Description:
The project is aimed at achieving specific outcomes aligned with the priorities of the Erasmus+ program. It focuses on environmental goals, aiming to enhance the skills of professionals and students in the tourism and hospitality industry in green and digital practices for sustainable tourism operations. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness among stakeholders about the environmental impact of tourism choices and support the development of sustainable destinations. Through a comprehensive dissemination and communication strategy, the project aims to promote sustainable tourism benefits and advance digital transformation in the industry, emphasizing the importance of advanced digital skills for resilience and safe tourism experiences.
Moreover, in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19 and increasing awareness of climate change consequences, the project aims to adapt vocational education and training (VET) to labor market needs, integrating skilled professionals capable of operating businesses in a more environmentally friendly and efficient manner. The project's tangible outcomes, including best practices collection, the SUSTOUR-MED Guide, and workshops, will address six key themes: Waste Management, Energy Efficiency, Social Responsibility, Digital Tools for Smart Tourism/Hospitality Operations, Awareness Raising, and Digital Marketing and Communication.

- 30 good practices/case studies on alternative tourism as an OER
- ALTOUR-MED Guide: a key resource for professionals and students to gain insights and competences for alternative tourism development
- A webinar will inform 20 trainers
- 3 ALTOUR-MED Seminars will directly train 45 tourism professionals and students on alternative tourism
- More than 3000 people reached through the dissemination activities
- More than 60 tourism stakeholders directly engaged through the local networks
