I am Marita and I am Erasmus+ trainee from Sweden in Palma de Mallorca. I want to tell you why  I chose to have a traineeship abroad and why I’ve chosen Mallorca.

I chose to work outside of Sweden because I love to travel, like to explore new places, meet new people, learn about different cultures and of course improve myself and learn new things.

I had my internship in EXPERIENCE MALLORCA (an Excursion agency) and always went out on different kinds of activities and explored almost the whole Island. When we came to Palma I was amazed. The city is clean and beautiful. It has a really nice view over the sea and people are really kind and most of them speak English. What I like most about Palma is that It’s close to the beach and has really nice viewpoints.

When I came to Mallorca, it was really empty and there were no tourists because of Covid-19. At that time it wasn’t that much work to do. But now in Summer everything slowly went back to how it was before Covid.

As a Swede, one fun thing that I noticed when I came to Palma is that Spanish people are usually late. So be patient! But otherwise they are really kind and helpful.
Another thing is that people love to go out and do sports, especially in the mornings and evenings. It could be running, cycling, kayaking, hiking and a lot more.

What I really like about Mallorca is that the Island looks pretty small but it’s bigger than you think. You can always discover new places and beaches. I have been in Palma for over 7 months and I always discover new beautiful places.

This traineeship in Palma gave me so much! I learned so many things, discovered new places and also made so many new friends from all over the world. I really enjoyed my time being here and I would recommend all students to come for a traineeship to Mallorca!
